Arduino Smart Bin Prototype and Simulation

University Year 2 - During this project I selected a common house appliance and prototyped an arduino embedded system to add smart features to the appliance. I selected a bin and used Tinkercad and Fusion360 to prototype a digital product. This Bin had an emphasis on ease of use and sustainability, encouraging the recycling and allowing the user to track how much they recycle and waste using a range of sensors and actuators.

Americas cup boat prototype:

UNIVERSITY YEAR 2 - This report documents a group project with a mix of 6 product design, electrical and mechanical engineers, where the aim was to build a new and innovative scale prototype of an americas cup sailboat. We 3D printed the boat and explained the design decisions made throughout the report. The pages I worked on individually were the hydrofoil research and design.

USB Lamp Prototyping Blog

University Year 2 - This piece of work is a blog following the process of prototyping and manufacturing an LED desk lamp. The documentation of this process shows each stage of the process from ideation to final product before analysing the product in terms of manufacturing in larger volumes and suggestions for further action and changes to make this possible and improve the utility and aesthetics of the overall product.

Numerical Keyboard Remodel

UNIVERSITY YEAR 1 - This remodel is a more aesthetic version of a standard numerical keyboard. The concept was to step away from the sharp corners and blockiness and form a more natural shape in general in the same way that apple products differentiate themselves in form from other alternatives.

Human Factors Camera Evaluation:

UNIVERSITY YEAR 1 - This project evaluates the human factors and user centred design of a Canon camera, it envolves the full breakdown of use, ergonomics of the product before suggestions for improvement and potential redesign ideas.

PS Console redesign

UNIVERSITY YEAR 1 - Research and ideation into the well known brand Playstation helped me identify trends and associations with the brand which i then used to develop a concept design for a new playstation console

AI hotel assistant Prototype

GCSE PROJECT - Following the brief "design a product to make a holiday stay more relaxing" i developed this AI assistant, similar to google home and Amazon's Alexa which responds to the users questions, aiming to make a hotel customer's stay easier. The Ai would be tailored to the hotel so that it could be asked questions such as how busy is the hotel restaurant, acting like a personal concierge.

Manufacturing Report of Low Budget Pepper Grinder

UNIVERSITY YEAR 1 -This Study shows the analysis, evaluation and potential improvements in relation to the manufacturing of Tescos' low budget disposable pepper grinders. It attempts to Combine views from engineering and business perspectives in order to see why it's made how it is and what can be done to further the companies profit.

Table Shelves Prototype

A-LEVEL -This project is a furniture piece inspired by postmodern architecture, the final design is a small scale mechanically accurate prototype to show the features and functionality of a full scale product.

Alarm Clock Remodel

UNIVERSITY YEAR 1 - Alarm clock disassembly and 3D modelling on CAD before improving exterior while retaining interior functionality.

This image shows the remodel of the IKEA Dekad alarm clock which is a monotone standard aesthetic alarm clock, I attempted to follow a similar style to Apple products by making the geometry softer while still holding form. This Remodel will come in a range of different pastel colours

Pinball Table Prototype

UNIVERSITY YEAR 1 -This project is a solution to a brief to make a pinball table in the style of Art Deco. With a group of 4 of my university Course mates. This product attempts to bridge the gap between form and function within the limits of the resources provided.

Hanging Shelter

A-LEVEL - This project is a shelter inspired by postmodern architecture, i created a small scale 3D model prototype surrounded and suspended by a diorama to help the viewer visualise the situation of use.

Study on Postmodern Design

A-LEVEL - This project was a personal investigation related to the styles in which i did my other A-Level projects in order to get an overall background and in depth research on the basis of each project. It involves in depth analysis of postmodern architecture and an attempt to apply the same values and aesthetics to fully understand how to take it through into the products i was designing for the other projects. The presentation comes under the question "How Did Postmodern Movement Affect Architecture?"

Point of Sale Display Project

A-LEVEL - This project stems from the business side of design and engineering, here i made an interactive point of sale, essentially a display case which shows off the unique features of the product. In this case i was advertising for an outdoor light so while making the light look aesthetic and attractive to customers i wanted to show off its "outdoor features" so i made the display case make constant precipitation over and past the light in order to really prove to the buyer that it works as advertised.

Supply chain management simulation report

University Year 2 -This report documents what i learned and how i performed in a digital supply chain management simulation called XSG. This was my first time attempting this sort of task so i had a bit of a learning curve but i found it very useful to understanding supply chains in less of a theoretical way.

Sustainability Assessment and redesign

University Year 2 - This report follows the process of analysing and redesigning an outdoor lamp in terms of it's sustainability. It includes Lifecycle analysis and the use of the Ansys eco audit tool

Motorised smart Park

University Year 2 - This short presentation shows the design of a motorised slide in CAD software Fusion360, The full project was to work with a group to put together different parts of the smart park and to develop Cad skills such as animation and mechanical motion.
